Rev Rachel Sheehan
- Priest in Charge

I am the new vicar here at Freedom Church Mereside. I joined the Freedom Family just before Christmas, moving to Blackpool with my little boy and my cockapoo. I have been ordained for nine years this year, and I have spent my ordained life so far in Wigan. Although I am a Scouser born and bred.
Things I love - Jesus, family, friends, God-children, the beach, music...and much much more!

Things I dislike - spiders, Marmite and prawns!
I am super excited for this new chapter in our lives and ministry here at Freedom Church. Not to mention the excitement for all that God is going to do through us all in our community. Please do come and say hello, I would love to meet you!

Sue Taylor
- Community Evangelist

I have been at Freedom Church for 5 years, I was overjoyed to have the opportunity to follow my calling. My role involves a lot of talking, encouraging and perhaps most importantly listening and supporting! 
I love chocolate, Jesus, cinema and musicals (in no particular order)
I have the support of my husband Mike, you may see him around doing the odd job or a tip run. I also have two wonderful children whom I adore. 
I can be picked out by my rather recognisable laugh - I am here to chat whenever you need so please do reach out if you need support or a shoulder to burden the load with you.

Hannah Gaskell
- Centre Manager
I started out in my role as Centre Manager in August 2022, I am delighted to have this opportunity to work with such amazing people. 
I am responsible for the running of our Community Centre, all of the fiddly admin jobs, maintenance, managing volunteers, and not to forget the shopping to keep our cafe nicely stocked. 
I love all things pink and I slowly plan to convert the whole office! I am fortunate enough to have a supportive relationship with God, my Husband Pete and our fur babies - Ellie-Lou, Scrumpy Jack and Bailey. 
If you ever have any questions or needs to do with the Centre, such as room bookings, please do not hesitate to get in touch!

Amanda Garwood
- Church Warden

My role is to take care of things to do with our church building and to make sure our Vicar is supported. My favourite Bible verse is: 'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me' Phillipians 4:13.

Elaine Simper
- Parish Safeguarding Officer

When I am not working full time as a nurse and safeguarding patients in my care, I volunteer at Freedom Church as the PSO.
I enjoy knitting and reading in my spare time. If you have any issues with regards to safeguarding I will actively listen to any concerns you have, please feel free to get in touch.
